Cupping is a traditional Chinese treatment aimed at reducing toxins from the body and releasing adhesions from fascia (the connective tissue that surrounds muscles.)
It uses suction to draw toxins and dead cells from the system enabling the body to eliminate them more easily.
The vacuum used will most likely cause marking on the skin which may last for different periods of time depending on the level of suction used.
Adhesions are reduced and eliminated when different levels of muscle and fascia are lifted from one another, and fibers of the connective tissue are encouraged to lay in the correct direction of their surrounding tissues. This may assist in eliminating pain and enhancing movement.
